With JQ being threatend to pull the route due to crewing distruptions. This would be the perfect opportunity. I was reading in the paper that Cairns Aiport aswell as Darwin Airport are puuting foward a very strong case to VA to start the route and feed traffic to SilkAirs new DRW-SIN route. It could easily be done:

- E190's from SYD or BNE arrive at 2200ish

- VAE190 2330 CNS-0130 DRW . . . MIA320 0230 DRW-0530 SIN

- MIA320 1930 SIN-0145 DRW . . . VAE190 0245 DRW-0545 CNS

- VAE190's continue to BNE or SYD at 0600ish

It Could Be Done!

Assuming of course that the E190's aren't fully utilised already, that its possible for 100 pax to transit from a domestic to an intl service in less than an hour (lets forgets about delays to the domestic service) and that of course there are 100 pax who want to travel between cns and sin via drw. isn't cns an intl airport in it's own right, considerably larger tha DRW? Wouldn't it have it's own flight to SIN?

Won't work on your timings, no capacity for aircraft at the airport at those times, however a late afternoon ex Cairns and 6AM ex DRW works, and is direct competition for QF link in terms of the route and timing. The airport is also quiet.
