Hi folks,

Not sure if this is really the right forum given these seem to be Virgin Atlantic ticketed, but I figure it's of interest to Velocity folks. I'm talking about these flights, for those who may not have seen it before:

Virgin Atlantic Airways - Popup

Has anyone booked one of the Virgin RTWs? Is it possible to add (e.g.) Virgin America sectors inside the US (presumably at additional cost) to the same PNR, or do US-internal flights have to be booked separately, and then inserted into the RTW using the 'overland' sectors from the web page?

Cheers,

Danny

Hi Danny,

We have booked a Virgin RTW to be taken at the end of this year through American Express Travel. It's as follows;

1) MEL-SYD (ticketed as VS)
2) SYD-LHR (VS)
3) LHR-JFK (VS)
4) LGA-NAS (DL)
5) NAS-LAX (DL)
6) LAX-MEL (VA)

Sectors 1-3 were ticketed on one reservation number, while 4-5 were on another one and 6 was a separate one. However, they were all issued in one PNR by Amex.

I note that your question was regarding Virgin America, but I'd assume it will be no different to our US sectors with Delta.

Trust this helps.

Cheers,
Glen

Many thanks Glen, that's exactly the information I was looking for!

Glen (or anyone else!), did you manage to find current pricing online for this ticket at all, or could you only get it by talking to Amex/travel agent?

Thanks,

Danny

Hi Danny,

I went straight to Amex as the dates we wanted were during the absolute peak periods, so I didn't want to waste time checking on airlines' websites. It may be worthwhile for you to check with a travel agent or Amex.

Cheers,
Glen
