Virgin Money Go Account - earn points on a debit card

For anyone thinking of this one, to earn VFF points, some points to think of.
You only earn 8 Go card points per transaction so if you make 4 transactions, you will only earn 32 Go card points.
Its not earnt per $1, its how many transactions per day, 8 multiplied by how many transactions.
A bit of a downer, but on the collection side, it looks ok, ...
So, if you made purchase of $1000, but in 8 transactions, you will only earn 64 Go card points on the Virgin Money system.
Putting that to VFF, it would divide by half so, 32 VFF points.
 
Worth noting that this bank account earns Virgin Money points, not Velocity points. They aren't the same thing.
Yes, but Virgin Money points can be converted to Velocity (or Accor, or Marriott, or Etihad, or Qatar, or United).
The 5,000 point sign up offer does have some value (although that ends up being 2,500 Velocity Points)
 
I think a few Bankwest veterans might be able to suggest ways to maximise returns on this...
