Is it just me or is the Virgin Lounge too busy?

I've recently had troubles finding a seat in both the MEL and BNE lounges. Albeit I am usually on peak hour flights.

The solution couls be the introduction of a Business Lounge got WP and business class pax. I know Sydney is getting a second storey and would love to see this opened as a business lounge.

Is there space at BNE and MEL for the introduction of such?

My only experience in peak is Sydney and, yes, it can be extremely busy. I think removal of single-entry passes at the beginning of the year is a sign that they are trying to manage it. And it's also why I think Silver passes will be staying at three month expiry for a while yet. And joining fees for Reds continue to increase too.

But usage may take a natural slide at the end of the year when status-matched Golds slip off the lounge eligibility list? Although if status-matched pax are flying often enough to congest the lounge, then I guess there's always a chance they'll requalify, which is a problem I don't think Virgin will mind having to solve.

It can be the same with Qantas at peak times.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I am glad its busy, gives the staff a chance to hone their clean up skills and shows that they are doing OK, personally I have yet to see the lounge full but I avoid AM Mondays and PM Friday travel for obvious reasons.

I've just seen another thread that VA are planning to open thier own CL or similar, hopefully this is something WP and J pax are welcome to use.

I think the fact it is full is great, that means the status match has worked for them, or the fact that people are at least flying them now. In all honesty, I cant see too many golds dropping off at the review date, with family pooling etc, it doesnt take much to renew gold, a couple of family weekends away, and a holiday, or in fact just one european trip with a family and you have gold renew.
For these reasons, a good old QF enhancement is probably not that far off. Personally, I have actually switched a fair bit of flying back to QF, which seems against the trend, but they seem to have better pricing, and the timings have suited me better. I have already achieved Gold Renew, which gets me through on Gold until 30 Nov 2013, so I will push on and get my QF Gold Back whilst I eagerly await the next chapter of The VA changes. I like VA, but I certainly wont pay a premium to fly on them.
Oh, and Sorry thats gone way OT
