Hi guys,
I have a couple of single-use lounge passes from a credit card offer which I want to post on ebay as the lounge in Cairns is now closed so I can't use them. There are usually a fair few passes for sale on there, but there haven't been any at all for the last few weeks. I'm just wondering if there just aren't many floating around these days, or if there is another reason, like Virgin not honouring them. Any ideas? Thanks.

Do you have physical lounge passes? Because electronic ones can't be transferred.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, they are physical passes, not electronic. Given with the old version of the ANZ Travel Rewards card.

Virgin are honouring the physical passes, gave one to a work colleague a few months back.
Good luck with selling. Would be nice if the Cairns lounge reopened.

Thanks so much for your reply. I'll give it a go selling them on ebay. Yeah, I wish Cairns lounge would reopen too, it was an oasis of calm and the attendants were lovely.

My only thought is around whether you are 'allowed' to sell them under the rules? I know Qantas has blitzes every so often and all the QF club passes and invited disappear from sale for a while. (They usually come back eventually.)

Thanks - I'll leave it for a while and see if any come back! Cheers.

Saw someone last week on ebay essentially offering miles - ''you chose the award flight you want, and I get it for you'' etc.

Pretty brazen, and in the USA they have zero tolerance for that. They cancel your account and take all you miles in a heartbeat. Set up a sting buy etc.

Personally I find it hard to believe anyone would want to buy a lounge pass - I've had a number (also from ANZ Travel Adventurer card) which I just tossed out - since I get Virgin lounge access with my AmEx card. I find the Virgin lounges post-Covid very dreary - the various coffee shops and bars in the airport(s) are nicer - of course F&B aren't complimentary but at least you get a reasonable choice. (I would have offered them for free on AFF but I presumed they were "attached" to my particular flight but I guess not).

I've always sold them on ebay as I was generally Gold due to o/s travel, so had lounge access anyway. They used to go for around $80 for 2, and lots of people were happy to buy them!

The start of a honeymoon, long layovers, travelling with a child and ability to leave your luggage at your seat while you take child to WC etc, somewhere to park elderly parent pre flight! Single lounge passes can be valuable in the right circumstances :)

Nah my favorite has to be the 90 day Delta Gold status for $199.

So basically this scam is charging you for them to log in to your Delta account, create a fake gold card in your name with another airline and then perform a status match on your behalf.
