Virgin Lounge Pass Question

I am currently have Gold status with Velocity.
I have two Lounge Passes in my account from when I was silver, they expire on July 2021. My Status is going to be reviewed in August and there is no way I can maintain Gold without International travel which is a huge shame.

I have never had lounge passes before so am not sure what to do with them as I don't think they will be needed as I have gold currently and only travel with one adult who can enter as a guest and my children who are free to enter.

I'm assuming there is no way to extend the expiry on them to use when I drop to Silver again?, can I give them away? Sell them? Any advice is appreciated.

I'd try calling to get them extended - you may be lucky. I'm not confident the options you question would work given they are likely electronic.

I too have 2 lounge passes courtesy of my Silver membership. Mrs Aus ATC and I have a trip planned soon - can I use the 2 passes t get the both of us in the lounge, or are they only for my personal use? TIA

Thankyou I may email and see if I can have them extended, due to the pandemic I’ve had a further 3 flights cancelled so I’m never going to retain gold.
Perhaps if I show them my cancelled flights they may take mercy on me

Not one to be outdone by a competitor, Velocity Frequent Flyer will offer eligible Gold and Platinum members a status extension of up to one (1) year or until 31 March 2022, as long as they take one (1) eligible flight with Virgin Australia before 28 March 2021.

It is not August, but at least another 7 months for you.

Thankyou, looks like I will get an extension until March 2022 as long as my flight goes ahead this time!

Just a follow up. I emailed Virgin and asked if I could get an extension on the passes. I was told no, as I'm a gold member I have lounge access so they won't extend the two passes I have on my account.

So is there no way I can gift these to someone? Seems a shame to let them go to waste.

You can only use 'em for someone else if they are with you:

6.3 Single Entry Guest access

(a) A Single Entry must be used prior to or on the date of expiry for that Single Entry. A Velocity Silver Member’s Single Entry is valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
(b) Single Entries may be allocated to individuals electronically (allocated to their Velocity account) or non-electronically (hard copy Single Entry tickets). You can check how many unused electronic Single Entries you have and the expiry date of each Single Entry by logging into your Velocity Account through Velocity Frequent Flyer.
(c) You cannot transfer Single Entries to other people (for example, to other Velocity Members) but you can use your Single Entries to enable other people who are travelling with you to gain access to the Domestic Lounge.

Remember we are weird times.

As Plats on Business class tickets, we were refused arrival access to SYD recently (''as lounge was very busy'') and had to wait 10 or 15 mins on a recent departing flight as they only had the upstairs SYD lounge open in peak hour, and folks needed to leave before any new folks could enter.

Gotta love Hrdlicka Virgin logic. Open a 100s of seat ADL lounge, and cap SYD at 70 max.

Freebie passes getting transferred to non elites not travelling with you, or being extended, have zero hope I think these days.
