Could not seem to get approval for this cc twice now even though I meet all requirements? Anyone else having trouble getting approval and what did you do?

Application date for this one has been bumped from April 30 to June 30, so plenty of time to apply for those who didn't get in by the end of April. :)

I suspected this must have occurred as this card was discussed as one of the top 5 point earning cards in a very simplistic story on the channel nine news in Sydney last night.

Fully approved within 5.5hrs of application being made... probably the easiest CC churn I've had so far.

I've had this card twice now. The first time (Q4 2017) the 20k points posted generally a week or so after the statement is issued. Not Speedy Gonzales but not dragging their heels.

I'm in the 2nd iteration of this card and got the 20k per month a little early as mentioned upstream and I've had 2 statements and the 20k points were transferred dead eye dick on the statement date.

Funny though, the spent points did not transfer on the first month but were transferred with the second month at the same time as the 2nd 20k points. The 3rd 20k coming up in a few weeks.

Hopefully like last time I get a 4th 20k points (with only spending around $20)

My first statement was issued a week ago. The spend points were transferred exactly on statement date but not the 25K as yet.

I've just had my first statement generated. In the Rewards section of online banking there are two rows listed as transferred to Velocity...one for points based on spend and one for 25k points. Will see what hits my Velocity account, I guess tomorrow.

I've only got one row of 990 points!

does that mean you didn't reach you min spend for the month?
...exclusive of government spend. I was very careful to not include any bills, public transport etc. in making the $1500.

Anyone know if this card allows government spend?
...allows it, doesn't earn any points though. Does any card still earn with government spend other than AMEX at a reduced rate?

My $1,500 is made up of a payment to RACV for car insurance and a small payment to Telstra via Paypal. If it's not eligible spend, I wouldn't have received the 990 points ($1,500 x 0.66)

Maybe they have a threshold to process the bonus 'early'. Or, maybe if you reached $1500 eligible by a certain point in the statement period they process they bonus. Or being Citi, they're just not that competent and there's a whole lot of manual processing of this stuff??

I've sent an online message via internet banking. Let's see what pans out.

ah, sorry, I was thinking the sliding scale came in at $1000, not $1500

Actually, re govt spend...I've just worked out that I received points for EVERYTHING on the statement except the annual fee.

That included:
  • Myki in Melbourne
  • Transperth train tickets in Perth
  • Origin Energy
I had thought utilities and public transport were on the govt / pseudo govt list.

This varies between credit card providers.

Yes, several. Although you'd need to be more clear about what you think 'government spend' is.
