Hi - Not sure if I have the right thread, but, has anyone done the Sydney - Perth run on Virgin Blue , Corporate Plus ? Is there actually a difference once on board (between coach and corp plus). Thanx Andrew

Hi there

No........although you will probably be closer to the forward exit.

Corp plus fares gives you

The use of Priority check-in counters at all Australian Domestic ports
On Australian domestic flights, free entry to The Lounge*, the new destination to do business
A generous 32kg of baggage that may be checked into the aircraft hold
Cancellations or flight changes can be made within 24 hours after the scheduled flight departure

Also "blue zone" seating. The website says there are 9 of these seats that offer more leg room. These seats (from my understanding) are row 1, and the two emergency exit rows. If there are blue zone seats available that no one has pre purchased for an extra $30 you will be offered an upgrade to the blue zone seat.

FYI - these bluezone seats are also offered to gold/silver velocity members if available. I am offered a blue zone seat most every time I fly, and we fly on the cheapest available fare.

Hi Andrew,

The short answer is "no". All Virgin Blue planes have all Y (i.e. economy/coach) seating so on board there will be no difference in seating type or service for a Corporate Plus fare. Although at this fare level you will be able to pre-assign yourself a seat up front (e.g. rows 2-9) when checking in online.

The Corporate Plus fare offers a number of benefits:
- ability to obtain a full refund or credit if you don't fly
- cancellation or flight change within 24 hours after the flight departure
- use of priority check-in counters
- free entry to The Lounge (located at SYD, MEL, BNE, ADL, CBR)
- 32kg of baggage that may be checked into the aircraft hold
Additional info located here.

I've flown SYD-PER and back a number of times. If you want additional leg-room, pay the extra $30 for "Blue Zone" which guarantees you an exit row. I find this very comfortable and recommend the over-wing row rather than row 1 where people tend to stand around waiting for the WC.

In particular 1C. Avoid this seat at all costs on all DJ 737 flights!!!

1A is not too comfortable either because the emergency slide on the door restricts leg room. Aside from that the solid arm rests on all row 1 seats makes them less comfortable IMhO. :)

Agreed... my favourite is still row 24 or 30 A or C last row... never need to sleep on a dom flight anyway, and would rather chat with the FA's ;)

Yes, I often assign myself 24C or 30C on a Blue Saver fare. On the flight home I'm usually on a Flexi-saver can can allocate myself 2C or 2D. The only issue with sitting at the back is that when it is windy day they won't always open the back door, so you can wait a while to get off occasionally.
