Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

By the by, excellent service from the CSD on the flight between MEL and SYD this afternoon. Just in control, friendly, helpful and on the ball. Credit to the airline.

VA917 - SYD to BNE - Thursday

Bacon and Eggs on toast - toast a disappointment - chewy and soft - prob the way it was reheated I guess - tasted better than it looked.

VA946 - BNE to SYD - Friday

Lamb rissole on vege tagine with spiced potatoes - I didn't really notice the bowl being so messy in RL.

Pretty tasty TBH.

CSD was excellent on that flight - good Ozzie lad - prob overplayed the larrikin / country boy but it sat well with me. Addressed us all by name every time (full flight) - had my 2nd G&T lined up before the first was complete.

Everyone was engaged and laughing with him - probably the most relaxed (and successful) service I have seen and it made for a highly enjoyable flight.

I think he was also on my recent flight from that description

If it's the lovely guy I had on a OOL-MEL flight mid last year he is also fluent in Japanese, from what I understand. I believe it's quite a shock when he starts chatting away to some of the passengers.
Oli maybe? Good bloke. Very good.

Don't know what it is about the MEL-PER route. Staff just seem grumpy compared to the short(er) sectors. No priority boarding at MEL (I asked why not while in the scrum) ..confused look and shrug received, no pre departure drink offered at all.. they manage this in my experience all the time on short sectors just what is the issue with the PER sector? So so far this "business class" experience has delivered nothing! 🫣

Apparently it was meant to have broccoli? CM apologised for the lack of it.
I think the CM was thinking of this one? (The two lumps at the top are chicken.)

Overcooked and messy plate potentially due to extended turbulence and delayed beginning of service during/after ascent.

Last minute booking (1 hour prior departure) as JQ cancelled my flight. VA832 on a brand new max - 10 30am departure. We got served lunch which was a bit odd. I was the last one to be served so I got the lamb risoles which were good.

Apologies, clearly I won’t be a travel reviewer… I was halfway and realised I hadn’t taken a photo. Probably it was the lack of breakfast and last minute booking!
