Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Some very generous pours from HBA-MEL. I think everyone was a bit frazzled due to the delays. The chap next to me put away 6 full to the brim wines in the hour long flight, which was impressive.

Options were a “roast chicken” salad with beetroot. It was that reconstituted chicken with the fake char marks. The greens were nice and fresh. It probably didn’t need the layer of couscous underneath. The lone raisin was a bit weird.

The small square of chocolate was unnecessarily vegan.

6 in the hour, geezuz can't even drink that much water.

Boonie is Tasmanian. Wonder if he has more refined tastes these days?
He wasn’t Tasmanian. He also wasn’t obnoxious, which was a relief. I think he was making the most of the fact that he was going to be stuck in Melbourne for the night, rather than his destination of Sydney. He had a status tag on his bag from a non-Australian airline. I didn’t catch the name.

VA551 Syd to Perth breakfast service.

Options of Jayne's hard as hell
Poached egg with chorizo on Turkish bread, silverbeet and chick peas
OR
Vegetarian Scurrah's scrambled eggs with spinach and a hash brown

The poached egg was probably harder than a hockey puck.

Are you all really still surprised about why the meals are portioned really small? Budget cuts and people in finance are making decisions.
No, I'm not surprised, I just stated my opinion.

My opinion all the other meals looks fine and decent. So the budget cuts haven't affected the J cabin meals too much from my arm chair AFF view.

I must say I haven’t had a problem with the proportions in the J meals I’ve been receiving. This one just seemed a little parsimonious as it was a two hour delayed lunch service and I was hungry 😋

VA252 CBR-MEL 0645 service.

PDB : Orange juice or still water. Went with then orange juice.

IMG_6355.jpeg

Main meal: Had the chia pudding with fruits and berry compote. Served alongside a slice of lemon cake it 🥰 had a glass of sparkling water with the brekkie.

Little did I know that alcoholic beverages were also available, but one has to ask … not that I’d have had anything alcoholic at 0700 in the morning, but I was on a short leisure trip to MEL and wouldn’t have said no to some champers or mimosas…

The CM Kurt was really good. He was assisted by FA Brooke, who helped with boarding and later went to work at the back.

Good flight overall.

I'm doing this flight again next week. Every time I've taken it in the last year, the two breakfast options have been chia with fruit or banana bread. Is that still the case?

Would love a bit more variety!

PDB served on both flights (water, sparkling wine) and service by the CMs also excellent.

Petaluma Pinot Noir enjoyed on both flights - great drop.
