Although their offer to those impacted is only partially fair.
You can get a full refund...godd luck getting a seat now at anywhere near the price or
You can rebook on an alternate day if the class of travel of yr ticket is available.
If they have a seat in the applicable cabin you were travelling on any alternate day they should reaccom you ,not dependant on the fare you paid

If strike action causes a disruption to travel plans is the airline responsible to get you to your destination ASAP? Or is accommodating you on later flights good enough?

Is this only VA policy or is it across all carriers? Full refund of airfare at this late stage is just a joke.

VS are offering a full refund or rebooking onto other flights of theirs which have availability which meets their obligations fully

Remember in February last year it was BA in this situation. Everyone was suitably accommodated and then the strike was cancelled.

Sorry I don't remember that situation. But it sounds like BA tried to get people to their destinations on time.

I don't regard being put on another flight in 2 weeks time as suitably accommodated. I think the airlines have way too many get out options....

Not sure if VA have changed their tune but the orig Travelmole story quoted VA management saying you could rebook to alternate VA flights subject to the class avail of your ticket. That was the "not good enough" I referred to.If they have space in the cabin you are booked they should accom you(I'm realistic that if you have paid disc Y you dont get booked into upperclass)
The use of subject to avail classes so close to departure ensures only full fares get accom...again which is a very small number. This is the sort of short slightedness that just sends VA customers to BA and the like in future

That they did. We booked off onto a CX flight and then back on BA when the strike was cancelled. We ended up on a 744 with about 40 pax total. About 4 of us upstairs in business. ---- Very good service :!:
