I received in the mail a letter from AMEX rewards announcing as of 1 July 06, you will be able to transfer 1 AMEX point to 1 VS Flying Club point.

I see this as very good, as QF if 120,000 points J class SYD-HKG-SYD, on VS it is only 80,000 points. London 256k vs 180k on VS. I wonder how long this will last for??

It might even get more PAX considering VS over QF on paid flights once they have flown VS.

Cheers,

JJ

Agreed on the points - but not everyone is attracted to the more limited routes redeemable on Virgin Atlantic.

Its a good option to hold up your sleeve. This is why my Amex points remain in my Amex account until I need to use them. That way I can use them for a QF redemption, a VS redemption (would need to join up first), a Hilton redemption or for any of the Amex MR rewards such as cash-back, vouchers or a coffee machine or 4.

Agreed. I like to leave my points wherever they were originally earned as long as possible. Moving them to the airline accounts starts to limt your options on what to do with the points.
