Is it safe to assume this is the same as the Virgin Atlantic plans for Sydney? I can't remember the details but read a paragraph saying there was going to be some super virgin group lounge built there.

Crazy Dave, any sort of lounge access, shared with anyone, at BNE international would be nice.

Cheers skip

+1 to that.

Your company is headquartered in Brisbane and you dont have an international longe.

I find this odd...

Virgin are funky and cool, their LHR club house is insanely cool...

Etihad is a more elegant airline... what will their combine lounge look like?

One step in the right direction .... lounge is pretty much essential to attract any traveller with lots of stash ...

About bl**dy time this happened!

Really looking forward to what they'll make in SYD. I wonder where in SYD they'll put the lounge?

I do agree with the sentiments on the lack of a BNE lounge - rather silly IMO.

Great news: I hope the time to deployment is quick, but I am sure they realise something special* needs to be built; so IMO an interim solution is needed now, let alone before AUH comes online.

*Something Special (that may take a little longer to construct)
  • Purpose built - brand spanking new
  • Great Location (e.g. as per below)
SYD-T1-VAlng.jpg

(i.e. easy access ramps from the base of each major pier: making the walking distance from immigration to the VA lounge, equal to that of QFs [and offsetting the long hike around to the "other" pier] with a second ramp down to gate 50+ departures and transfer-arrivals)
  • Higher than the Qantas First lounge (Built above the terminal roof - A beacon of presence at T1, looking down at the QF FL)
  • A position where it's height gives it a commanding view, and yet doesn't block the sight lines of any tarmac locations from the control tower.
i.e. 1) N.E. over the top of the QF FL to the city skyline, 2) S.E. across the intersection of the runways, with clear views of both the east-west and north-south ones and across the water, 3) S.W. tranquil green views over the golf course & 4) N.W. if it can't get high enough to get a sunset deck view, [ i.e. past the car-park office block], then put the lounge amenities on that side.

Well, I can dream can't I!
