We have two at our office who have done ok on referral offers. One has eight and the other has six with 5 weeks to go.

Got Ms M@rcoPolo to apply for the AMEX Velocity Platinum - she didn't quite meet the $65k minimum income requirement however had good credit score so we took the gamble and was approved on the spot, no questions asked... so it looks like they don't care too much about income provided you have good credit score.

As a point of reference, she got 828 credit rating from https://www.getcreditscore.com.au - so I'd suggest you check first and go for it if your credit score is good even if your income is not quite up to minimum requirements.

Card took one week to arrive in the mail (fast delivery apparently compared to others being delayed due to hugely successful promo...) and was quickly put to the test to hit the $1k spending requirement for the bonus points ;)

Now spreading the word to family & friends + adding 110k referral link HERE :)

Perhaps to my detriment I have been holding off putting up my link, thinking there are so many links here who would want to use mine?

So here I am, putting up my own LINK with 10 or is it 20 referrals available.

I shall say thank you in advance should anybody use my link.

Buzzard, I have used your link for my application. Happy times!

Hi all, after waiting 3 weeks for the card to be sent (delayed printing of the card) I can finally post my referral link (do you know how hard it is waiting!)

Having used an earlier referral link from Europa, for those that would like 100k + 10k bonus pts (thus 20 bonus for me!), would appreciate if you could click the link. Only would like and expect one person to do it, not greedy, otherwise somebody has to miss out!

As another contribution for those that don't know, Amex thru Amex Connect where they have, at times, great statement credit offers, like this one... $20 back on Fashion spends at listed stores.....Enjoy
Great current offer - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/208641
All offers - https://network.americanexpress.com/connect/au/en/default.html

Thanks, just had some referral points come through to my AMEX account. For anyone else, plenty of referrals left using this link. :p:p T's and C's as per AMEX.

So just curious here... has anyone had any referral points drop into AMEX since the 22nd (Saturday just gone)?

Thanks M@rco, wasn't sure if anyone would admit to even receiving a referral bonus in this thread (lol)... anyone else since 22nd?

p.s. Free bump for your (Mrs that is) referral:

(yes i went searching for it :D)

I have since answered my own question from a friend that received a referral posted today.

For anyone interested I've all but confirmed the hard limit on this card is 11 referrals, even though one member earlier in this thread had obtained 15 this has obviously now been scaled back to 11.

Happy hunting :) And please no one duck back and use any of my link

And another free bump for M@rco because i'm a nice guy :D

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Just out of curiosity, I've signed up and received the card...

With the free return domestic flight, I'm based in Perth. It sais the only options available are to go to Port hedland, Karratha, Broome and Newman. I really have no need or desire to go to any of them has anybody else in Perth been successful in getting a trip over east or can I choose other destinations in WA such as Esperance or Kalgoorlie (which are both much cheaper airfares but I have family that live in those towns).

Cheers

I'm also in Perth and I believe you can go to Sydney or Adelaide as well. Someone posted earlier in this thread that they booked Perth-Sydney for October so we should be fine.

Big news for me and big update for me! My 110k bonus showed up in my account today just a couple days after making my first spend! Absolutely ecstatic and thanks to all the fellow AFF'ers for all the info. I wouldn't have applied otherwise.

A basic rundown of my application:
- been a DJ's amex cardholder only for a few months
- applied and had to wait for them to review my application
- few days later I received an sms stating I was approved
- another few days later and I received a letter in the mail stating they are taking into account my current amex card limit when deciding on the credit limit for the new card
- received card in the mail
- activated and made a few transactions which came in to over $1k
- two days after the spend I checked my points balance and the 110k points posted with my very first spend which was only a few hundred dollars.

So if anyone was in a similar situation to me I would say to go for it!

If you can book from PER-SYD using this card, does anyone know if you can use points to upgrade to J?

Hi there - please see my post with information on the free domestic flights at: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....ocity-platinum-card-69071-53.html#post1295174 :)

But to answer your question quickly, I'm afraid not:
American Express said:
No Points will be awarded for travel on these Flights and Flights will not be eligible for upgrades using Velocity Points.

My referral link: https://www316.americanexpress.com/...7CEE8EFD6&mgmerSource&MGMURN=AAAABgQMEhEVBw==, still 8/10 referrals available.

Thanks. I noticed the discrepancy when I first applied for the card in March (unfortunately I only got a 60k bonus) but I hadn't needed to test it yet.

I wonder if they will offer the bid for upgrade I really don't like transcon Y.
