I think that was the page that I had to come back to the next day. It didn't work on day 1. On the 2nd day, if I remember correctly, I rec'd an auto email saying to complete the application and it went straight through.

I am having enormous trouble loading an application for my wife using one of the referral links from this site. I am on step 6 out of 6 but every time I submit the application it just redisplays the page - no error message or anything. Anyone else get this?

Here's my application link for anyone interested in the 110k offer. T's and C's as per AMEX.

Heh Europa, I have just used your link for an application which is in "processing". I will update if it is not approved, hopefully somebody will be kind enough to use mine when I post the link... Cheers Coops

I did have a similar issue - It came down to the address field for me. Do you have an address with two numbers in it? eg 20-22

Much appreciated. Hope it all goes well for you.

A couple of silly questions...
  1. For those that already have an existing Amex-issued Amex card, as part of the card activation process, do you need to provide online account login details? If so, did you enter in your existing Amex online details or did you create a new online account?
  2. Can the free domestic flight be redeemed for someone else who is not a cardholder (primary or supplementary)?

I tried using my existing DJ's Amex login but I wasn't able to so I had to create a new login.

Many thanks to burmans et al. for info throughout this thread. I had the pleasure of being approved for a card and using some points to gift my nephew his first ever flight for his upcoming birthday - another one to be hooked maybe ;). Anyhow, hopefully I've done this correctly here, but if anyone would like to use this amongst the plethora of referrals out there, I would be most grateful: https://www316.americanexpress.com/...10CF60520&mgmerSource&MGMURN=AAAABgQbEhcdCg==
No probs if not, it's been good fun! Please note that if you do use my link you will get all the listed points/benefits and I will get referral bonus - happy to discuss via PM any questions you may have. Thanks again all.

Yeah, my partner's application got delayed by a whole month because of the address problem. We moved into a new unit that wasn't on the address database yet, so we had lots of back and forth to confirm the address.

Try a different browser eg IE, Firefox, Chrome...or a different computer;:)

I linked my existing log in for my platinum edge and everything worked.
Ahh, just remembered I am the supp card holder and couldn't link my account with my normal Plat card account, probably because I'm only a supp cardholder.

It seems the address was OK even though our address has a letter after the number. My wife has the ANZ Black Amex which was declared on the form - as soon as we removed that it worked. Of course it does mean that the application is not completely correct now but if they question her she will just tell them to spend a bit of money improving their software. It is absolutely ridiculous that the form wouldn't submit yet wouldn't highlight what the problem is.

I think the issue may have been the ANZ amex card you were trying to enter. It would have a different number configuration to an AMEX issues card. There is no need to add bank issued amex cards to your application.

Just another data point to add to this. I have an existing AMEX-issued card(the free one that gives QF points), and I applied for this through Robd's referral link, and I got the full 110k points even though I had an existing card(disclosed it in the application as well, giving the CC number, etc). My wife then also applied through a referral link, and she too got her 110k points even though she had previously held a David Jones Amex card which was only recently closed down a few months ago.

A colleague of mine spoke to someone at the AMEX office, and supposedly if you apply directly through their normal offer(ie. not through a referral), which includes a 100k bonus point offer, if you already hold an existing card/previously held one in last 12 months, then their system won't give you the 100k points. BUT, if you apply through a referral, that overrides their system to actually give the 110k bonus points, even though its not supposed to. So, moral of the story is, make sure you apply through a referral(if you already hold an AMEX-issued card or did previously), not just for extra 10k points, but for the "undocumented" benefit of overriding their T&Cs of not awarding bonus points if already existing customer.

To help facilitate that :p, here's my referral link again : https://www316.americanexpress.com/...B1A6385D0&mgmerSource&MGMURN=AAAABgQeEhcfDw==
