I also received my card today after applying via another member's link.

It would be much appreciated if someone could use my referral link.
Thanks :)

Apologies if this has already been asked and answered - how long (generally) does it take for the points to be transferred over to Velocity? I see the bonus points have posted in the "View Points Summary" section but still a big fat zero under "Velocity Points Transferred".
My points transferred yesterday to Velocity, I haven't even received a statement yet. I got the card around the 21st of July, I also haven't even hit $1000 yet, I have only spent $664. Very happy.

Well Hubby applied Friday ( already has Platinum edge) and didn't hear anything. However he got a letter yesterday saying he had been approved but as he already holds an Amex, then they would take his existing credit limit into account. Nothing about not getting the points, so I guess we will have to wait and see.

Hi heg....was wondering the outcome of this, did the points post for your hubby even with the letter?

Interesting, thank you! My card came on the 23rd so let's hope I receive them tomorrow-ish!

I put in my existing card number and got this same letter when I signed up. I also activate the card using my existing Amex online account. In my case 110k point still post just fine.

In case you still need a link, here's mine. Thanks!

Points posted fine. He got the full 110k well before he hit the 1k spend too :)

oh fantastic, I hold a plat edge as well & got the same letter and thought....bugger. Whilst still no guarantee of points posting for me it is promising. Cheers for the feedback

To add to the body of evidence: A friend who used my referral had an existing platinum edge card. Received a letter stating that the card limit would take into account his existing account limits, yet still received the 110k points bonus once he'd reached $500 spend (so not even the $1000 advertised).

And if anyone still needs a referral to get the 110k Velocity points, perhaps those of you who have an existing card and haven't yet signed up I've still got nearly all of the limit to go, my link is (and I'd be ever grateful - I think I may actually get my first flight at a level beyond Y+!):

Hi guys, thanks to this forum I have applied for the card and it arrived today. If anyone else would like 110,000 Velocity points would be great if you could use my referral link:

I will get 20,000 points if you are approved.

Thanks all.

So I made my first purchase, a Virgin flight for $984. It is showing up on my Points Transactions, but also a bonus 10,000 points referred to as a Virgin Cobrand Acquisition Bonus - Plat. Is this the 110,000 that I am supposed to get? I know others have got it without needing to spend $1,000. Also, I am an existing card member and also got the letter to say they took my existing card limit into account, but I also recall others saying they also go the letter and also still got 110k. I tried to get a screen shot, but can't upload it.

If anyone is still wanting to sign up, my referral link is below. Thanks

According to other's experience, it shouldn't be a problem as it's not a direct AMEX. I already have a direct AMEX, and I got my points very quickly.

David Jones Amex is not a direct Amex card?! This is news to me...Great news! Will put my mind at ease just that little bit more.

Signed up using Heg's referral link so I'm throwing my hat into the ring. Much appreciation to anyone who uses it

It is an Amex card which is listed on their website so I assumed it was an Amex issued card until I heard your take on it. Either way I'll just have to wait and see whether the points come through.

I'm hoping the fact that I've only held my DJ's Amex for 3 months won't be an issue ...

Anyone here had an Amex Platinum Charge card and Amex Platinum Reserve card and been successful receiving bonus points?

I already have an AMEX Velocity Card and got the points on this card OK. Sorry, you can unlike my comment now ;)
