Vietnam Airlines Upgfrade

I have flown economy with Vietnam Airlines to Vietnam before and wasn't happy with the service, comfort, entertainment etc however they are the only airline that flys direct from Sydney to Ho Chi Min City. I am considering booking economy once again and trying for an upgrade through Optiontown. I would be grateful for any feedback re the feasability of an upgrade.

No harm in applying for an upgrade, they are quite efficient with the refunds if it fails. If Vietnam Airlines don't sell upgrades at check in (like Air Asia do now) you could have a better chance. Apply sooner rather than later. I like to think that they prioritize by how far in advance you have booked an upgrade.

each time ive been successfully upgraded, i actually called OptionTown and had them process it ... now whether there is a correlation, i dont know but ill keep doing it this way

you ring and tell them it wouldnt accept your credit card online and they'll waive the telephone booking fees (no evidence required).

We are going to mothball our June trip to VN.

Pity could not giveaway the tickets with no name change rule.

Optiontown, I'd stay away from them.

Keep money for months and from what I read, offer a low upgrade rate.

Sure, they return your money about 3-5 days after your flight in Y .....after keeping for free for few months.
