Effective 29OCT, VN will introduce daily 789 services to both MEL and SYD, at this moment Premium Economy is not available from MEL, but is from SYD. For Business Class pax, that means they now get a lie-flat bed instead of an angle-flat bed with direct aisle access for every pax which is a huge improvement in itself.

Careful of booking for flights immediately after startup date. I booked on their 787 service last year close to starting the HAN LHR service and ended up on a grotty old 777 both ways.

There are a lot of moving parts bringing new types to routes, so it's not a VN specific issue.

This is a definite positive for Business class passengers. But I don't think it's that much of an upgrade for economy passengers. The 787 and 777 are both 9 abreast, but the Boeing 787 is narrower meaning the seats are also narrower.

They were doing PR flights in Hawaii and other spots rather than following their published intentions. The usual airline attitude of passengers last me thinks.
