Hi there
I'm going to reach VFF WP early in the new year, and need to travel from ADL back to the UK in July. I normally fly on Singapore Air (economy, sadly), as I quite like the (relatively) short daytime flight to SIN and then the long overnight flight to LHR gives plenty of time to snooze and minimise the jetlag. However, I've also been looking at a couple of other options via SYD:
Picking up Virgin Atlantic, which has the similar flight-time advantages to SQ, plus I have around 60k of Flying Club Miles to burn if I want
Picking up Virgin Australia / Etihad, which has the advantage of bonus miles and (hopefully) a better chance of an upgrade as WP, as well as the AUH lounge, but with the flight timings not being as good as SQ (long daytime leg)
Would appreciate any thoughts on the best options, chance of an upgrade, how they treat VFF WP's etc..
As a left-field option, I may be doing more Oz domestic flights in the new year, so do I throw caution to the winds and book to fly back on a One World airline (as Qantas Silver) to set myself up to chase Qantas Gold in 2014?
Thanks in advance
