Hi,

I have received so much information from the forum so here's some time sensitive information to help others.

There's a special offer detailed at:

http://milevalue.com/wyndham-points...-airline-miles-for-1-35-cents-each/#more-9375

which gives you the opportunity to buy points and then covert to AA miles. You can only buy one of each package but that is still quite a few miles you can get cheaply.

I am not very good at time conversion websites as they use graphic maps normally. Can someone work out what the time conversion is into Australian eastern time - I'm in Tasmania - to know when the sale will be on?

Thanks.

During June (our winter), 1PM eastern is 14 hours after 1pm in Hobart, so 3am.

timeanddate.com

Wyndham are on a big expansion locally re hotels, that could also be a good use of points !

So at 1am Perth time we have the opportunity, using an amex card, to buy 30,000 AA or US miles for US$405 if we time it just right??

And you have to log on and register at this whyndamrewards website...

Does it have to be an Amex Amex or can it be a bank Amex I wonder?

The deal is exceptional. There is a very limited quantity which is why the price is so good.

And yes it goes through the hotel rewards scheme but you can always sit on the points for a while and transfer later.

Dale.

Hi,

I bought points for IHG recently and one issue can be the address they want has to be a US address and the CC transaction won't go through without it. What worked for me is to change the address to my parent's (no unit number) and then put the postcode as 9021 which I changed under online services in AMEX. You then enter your address as being in California 90210 on the website. I believe that they are identifying AMEX's off the number at the beginning so I think any AMEX should work but it definitely worked with the Plat Reserve.

The chances of receiving this are quite low so I don't want to get up at 3 AM Sydney time for it although maybe I should give it a go.

I'm confused by the terms and conditions:

(1) set of points may be purchased for this offer per Wyndham Rewards[SUP]®[/SUP] account number. Up to 6 sets of points may be purchased in total for any Wyndham Rewards offer in this promotion per customer/account number.

Seems like a contradiction??

Explain? To me it requires no explanation as it seems so obvious.

Maybe one is not supposed to be able to make a purchase without a member number or an account, but should someone succeed in this they can deny the purchase if more than one transaction occurs.

Ever heard the term "web bots"?

Then what's the significance of six?:

It says you can only buy one, then it says you can buy up to six.

(danged smartphone I misread it)

1 purchase tonight only - this whole thing is part of a series, so no more than six purchases for the entire series - they was likely something yesterday and would be more on thursday ...

Just snagged the 75K point deal using two of the methods in this thread. Will post details later - have to get to sleep & then be up for work in a couple of hours. Worth it though; thanks to all especially OP!

:D

Nice work... what time did you purchase Lisee? Was it right on 1PM ET? How quick did they sell? I decided against getting up as didn't think I'd have a chance but maybe I should have.

Yes, I tried immediately from 0300hrs QLD time. I aimed for the largest point package first, then the 60 000, then 40 000... 40 000 was the only package that successfully generated the next step of a purchase screen. In the meantime, I kept the other packages open in tabs & kept refreshing/ checking them while I entered purchase details in the 40 000 point tab. Before I completed a purchase - BINGO - the 75 000 point tab finally refreshed through to a purchase screen. I abandoned the initial purchase (it had timed out by then) & filled out all details to purchase 75K. It was rejected due to my CC address!!!!!!! Before I could even begin to change any details, the purchase timed out! I had lost the 75K, never mind, I kept trying my luck with refreshing.

There was no result refreshing any of the tabs besides the 14K tab. Rather than purchase 14K, I kept refreshing everything while I quickly opened AFF / this thread / read again the super helpful info from dalereardon & from paultiffen. Went back to my multi-tab refreshing, was about to give up as could not even get response from the 14K by then, then - BINGO AGAIN - the 75K came good! I simultaneously opened AMEX online while entering purchase details in the 75K tab, changed my address & confirmed for AMEX, entered my 'new' US address in 75K purchase tab & it processed successfully! I won't count my chickens until I see the points in my freshly minted Rewards account; I gave it a good crack regardless & learnt some useful tips for online US purchases!!

If QF had not massively upset me as one of their very loyal customers with removal of accessible ASAs (sitting on personal phone 9-5 M-F is simply impossible in my line of work) I would never have had reason to venture into the AA section. Seems like there is a whole new FF world just waiting for me out there ;)

AA may be about to suffer unfortunate changes to status earn, like Delta's and United's programs. Check flyertalk for more.

Should not affect simple purchase and burn deals like this, but may definitely affect people looking to earn status withAA by flying Qantas.

Just had a look on flyertalk. Couldn't see what you were referring to...

If it happens it's most likely to be US-based addresses only, like DL and UA's implementations. AA would have to be pretty stupid to make no exemption for non-US members.
