Velocity (Status Match) Welcome Pack.

I recently got a status match from Velocity and received the new card in the mail.

Having had status changes with Qantas in the past, each time a new welcome pack comes along with bag tags, new card, benefits documents etc...

My query is; doesn't Velocity do bag tags with status upgrades, or is it just the status match flyers that only get the new membership card and a brief welcome letter.

Which level? Has been reported here earlier that they have gotten rid of the fancy packaging for silver and it is only sent to gold and above. Not sure whether they send the full kit to Status Matches or not though.

It was sent out on the 5th Sep and usually takes 7 working days, so it should be there tuesday or wednesday. This is what i was told.

If matched to Velocity Silver, expect an envelope with just your card. You can call up for bag tags if you want. This was posted by a VA rep in the Status Match thread.

I was acknowledged on 11th October (and show as WP on my account), but have not seen a card or welcome pack etc....

Mine took about 2 weeks. I applied the day before the offer closed, was confirmed by the Monday.

Anyone heard anything on a repeat offer? I've just started flying a fair amount domestically and I'm 5 SC away from silver already within my first month in the new role.

My other half is cabin crew for V Australia amongst staff the word is this offer was a massive success, even before the events of the last few days.

The idea was to entice FFers from the other side of the fence, over here. Just start booking DJ and you'll have your status in no time at that rate! I doubt DJ will continue to show interest with status matchers who just turn up to ATA whilst not sharing their flying budget with them

My gold status match took over 6 weeks but I got the full kit with luggage tags. A colleague that applied well after me got his status match and kit before me. Not sure what to make of THAT! lol

On a brighter note, my QF SG status expires in May '11, and I have enough SC's to re-qualify already but Virgin have given a full 12 months validity from the date of processing the status match regardless. Great move IMO!

mine came in less than 2 weeks. good news the offer of double status credits has been extended due to the qantas 'games'
