Velocity status lounge access

I have been searching for awhile and cannot find the answer so maybe someone here could help.

I hit silver status a few weeks ago and purchased lounge access as I didn't know how much more flying I would be doing. To my surprise I am about to hit Gold in the next few weeks and will get lounge access complementary.

My my question is ' what happens to my lounge access that I purchased'. I remember when I was with QF that is was put on hold until I slipped back to that level and the remaining time was then started again. Is this the same with Velocity.

Send them an email and ask for a refund, you can only try.
I did when I got status match with Etihad around 3 weeks after joining the lounge.
Got a refund.
