Velocity ending OpenTable partnership

Our friends at the other Aust airline is also doing the same thing with their restaurant partner, ie stopping earning points at Rockpool.
Though, I would prefer the system where we could just present our VFF card on paying, and the points go into our account after we swipe our VFF card onto a certain card reader.
Having to make a booking before turning up at a restaurant might be nice to some, but I prefer just going to a restaurant with a certain earn points here sign, like how we have the FB system and points go straight to our FB account, then transferred to VFF.

Another enhancement..... when is some good news coming from Virgin?

The times I used OpenTable I then received a follow up email on why i didn't turn up at the restaurant. Obviously restaurants must pay a commission in which some don't want to pay.

For some retailers joining into a loyalty platform such as Velocity is part of a marketing strategy to gain more customers and create brand awareness. Once they feel they have got the value they pull the pin. Sometimes it's a case of company's wanting to reduce the expenses and pulling out of such platforms is a way to reduce cost. There is always the possibility of the partnership not delivering any value.

In terms of good news....
They have partnered with Ola and offered a 1,000 point first ride bonus.
They have partnered with No. 1 Lounges

Must admit, I think the current Menulog 10 point per $1 spent is a great offer. Plus many restaurants have their own 10% off first purchase.
I may get somewhat fatter over the next few weeks. In my area there’s so many take-away restaurants with Menulog. My local Friday night takeaway restaurant is on Menulog and strangely cheaper on Menulog than their own pricing.
Can’t believe I haven’t used Menulog before.
