I lost all interest in VA when they dropped their Pacific Island routes and put ridiculous surcharges on EY. Sooooo glad I transferred to SQ when I could! I rebuilt the Flybuys accounts with shopping promos but I will use these either for groceries or Flybuys travel.

The thing I don't understand is the no points on earn on their own flight numbers operated by another carrier, I can't think of another airline that does that.

Most airlines use the codeshare number to encourage the spend on their own flight number, not try and kick them across to the other carrier's flight number.

This is more of a costing saving exercise, I dont think we'll see any more VA flight numbers operated by carriers moving forward. I'm assuming Virgin pay a percentage back to the original carrier plus also need to factor in points. Now it will just be other carriers paying virgin for the points
