True, but you can't deny, after somebody posts a comment about priority boarding, there is always, within the next three posts, a reference to how well AA do it

Probably me posting that too! Lol ... But AA just does it so well ;)

Re: Priority Boarding

I am no snob, but nobody likes queuing. Still my opposition to queuing isn't that I am above it and my time is more important than other peoples (let's be honest - the plane is taking off at the same time - I can't get it in the air any sooner) but it is the difference between slowly shoe shuffling towards the boarding gate or having another glass of wine in the Lounge.

I can't tell you how many times I have had to stand up and have that last quick gulp before running to the gate - or worse (Heaven forbid) - having to leave a full glass on the table

Priority Boarding would allow me to get my fill of the old vino, and then board without walking passed teary goodbyes of Gen Y couples making out at the gate ;) - I don't know how to - so you put a price on that ;)

Did anyone fly today, and if so can you confirm that flights booked prior to today are accruing SCs at the old levels?

I noticed this online today so when they called the first boarding call for my flight I left the lounge to check it out. There was nothing there (and this is normal gate 34 at SYD) so I sat in the gate area and waited for everyone to board before me. No priority entrance and no mention of it either. :(

Shame as I think it would be a great new idea, and easily (and cheaply) implemented...

Yes take note - once they actually start it ;)

Used it at gate 40 yesterday morning, but only single bridge so no real advantage.

Previous bookings will be on the old earning system, then converted. Shouldn't be a big difference though!
Ugg, it's quite a big difference for PE and J bookings, given all the VAust flights just sneak under 8000 miles.

PE bookings are earning 30ish SC's less each way from my calculations.

And I was expecting the worse part was going to be "miss the flight"....

silly me :D:D:D

I can't even confirm for a flight flown last Friday - it hasn't credited yet :)

Same here... these are VA flights too - its slower than it used to be :( Few a chinks to iron out I guess....

Anyone else?

Trying to work out how the Discount/Full Fare Economy gap will work on Etihad, since I'll be doing a big trip with them in economy early next year and claiming it on Velocity. Planning to book it soon, but I have no idea what fare type I'll be on. EY's booking engine just spits out a price and doesn't tell you what type of fare it is, nor does it give you any flexibility options. This doesn't matter for Etihad Guest because EY doesn't distinguish between different economy fare types - they all credit at a standard economy rate. In ye olde Velocity system, it was the same thing - any economy flight on EY got you one status credit per mile no matter whether it was full Y or a discount level.

So does that mean that in the new system any EY flight will still earn the full economy SC rate, or will Velocity pick up that I'm flying on a lower fare type (if indeed I am) and give me the discount SC rate, even though that distinction doesn't exist from Etihad's perspective? If, as I suspect, it'll all still go on the full rate, does that apply even on codeshared legs? It's possible that my EY booking might include one or two codeshared legs on V Australia. If I'm on an EY discount economy fare, does that mean the VA legs earn the discount SC rate, or will the fact that it's all handled through the EY computer system override this? Aaargh god so many permutations.

So nothing really gets past our AFF'er's!!!!

Thanks for the update, I didn't expect it to happen overnight thats for sure.

What a great improvement, picking up on what Qantas fails to provide! Can't wait to see it in action.

Prize for first person to post a photo of a priority boarding gate?

Am I right in saying that as a Gold member I get a 50% bonus on points but nothing for Status Credits?

So Perth - Sydney or Melbourne in PE used to earn 6500 each way and now only earns 40 SC's?
