Question,

HBA to MEL is 6900 points + 12.61
HBA to SYD is 10900 points + 16.95
HBA to MEL via SYD is 6900 points + 28.91

Say I want to go to Sydney - Am I better off take option 3 and forget about the flight to Melbourne?

No checked bags I know.. And posting of SC's???

This is a bit of a quirk in the system, likely to be fixed some time soon.
I'd go with booking the HBA-MEL-SYD and then just fail to board the MEL-SYD leg.

And book any return on a different PNR so they dont cancel your return flights I'd think would also be a good bet!
