Hi all, Q, if I transfer from ANZ Rewards on Monday 30th and it takes a day or two to land in the Velocity account, would I receive the 15% bonus? Or do the points have to be cleared into Velocity by 30th. Cheers

You can transfer the points at the very last minute and you'll still get the bonus. The end date is the last chance to transfer the points.

Thanks mrsmart, I have now won a $20 bet. Much appreciated.

Might want to triple check the T&Cs to make sure, but glad I could help!

The past few times this offer has been around I've done one final transfer on the last day, always getting the bonus.

Enjoy your $20 :p

Just on this 15% promo...........are many of you guys using this as an opportunity to move points from credit card programs (where I have most of mine warehoused) into VA? I usually redeem on SQ but VA makes a lot of sense to me with the 15% bonus, even if I then later transfer them to SQ.
Thoughts?
Regards,
Peter

If you have Citibank points, I would move them all. Much safer to warehouse them with velocity given Citibank's desire to devalue their program.

If they are AMEX points I prefer to warehouse with AMEX due to the greater optionality of transferring to 9 airlines.

You're definitely better moving the points to VA first.

1 ANZ point = ~0.33 KF mile
1 ANZ point = 0.5 VFF point (0.5 VFF point = 0.37 KF mile)

Adding in the 15% bonus (but even without it), you come out ahead going via VA.

I am moving all points from ANZ over for the reasons mrssmart suggests, but leaving those in Westpac where they are.

I don't have any points in the other programs, so not exactly sure, but St George, BankSA and and Bank of Melbourne are the same as Westpac I think, so probably a pass there as well, same with Amex MR points.

CBA can't transfer to KF direct, so might as well send them to VA with the bonus.

No idea about HSBC.

answering my own question:

Commonwealth Bank Awards to Velocity Points Transfer : approx 26 Hours.

I transferred around 3pm yesterday, and they were in the account after 5pm today. I assume there is a daily batch transfer/database import etc.

I was looking to transfer my Suncorp Visa points to Velocity with the bonus when I saw this:

0.5 KrisFlyer Miles for 1 Rewards Point

0.5 Velocity Points for 1 Rewards Point

which indicates I should just transfer straight to KrisFlyer as their points are worth more (VFF 1.35: KF 1). I was planning on doing a big transfer to KF anyway.

Absolutely..If the destination is KF then a direct transfer is the go

Transferred AMEX points today......says up to 3 days....should get the 15% bonus?

Most of us here seem to think it is the day of transfer, not the day it hits your Velocity account. Sounds like you will be our test case ;-)

I transferred the bulk of my Amex MR points mid last week, and they appeared (with the bonus) on the same day.

Then yesterday, Mrs 2905 went nuts with some Christmas shopping, so I had another 3000+ that I transferred this morning. Nothing's appeared yet; I'm guessing that a lot of people were waiting until the last day, and they've got a lot to process.

CommAwards allocates the bonus before the transfer is made. So looks like the banks are paying for the bonus points somehow.

Spent 1.5 hours trying to redeem via ANZ Business Rewards tonight but kept coming up against error messages, slow load times and dead pages. Giving up for now and forgoing the 15% bonus as a causality of leaving my redemption attempt to the last minute.

mmmm So transferred yesterday via Amex....received email today saying IN PROGRESS 30\11\15.
Velocity account not showing any points in today

Looks like I was a test case as well, without knowing it as I fully expected the bonus to be paid dependant on day of transfer, not receipt in Velocity account. Anyway, transferred 530K ANZ Black points around 3.10pm yesterday and they hit the account at some stage today, so turnaround time ~24 hours. The bonus was also credited.
