Is it just a problem with the Hobart lounge or is this how Qantas saves costs and shortchanges Qantas Club members everywhere? I went to Hobart for two days last weekend coming back on the Jetstar flight at a little after 8pm on Saturday. Arrived at the airport ready for a drink and a light meal only to find the Qantas Club roped off with a sign that it closed at 5pm. We sat near the roped off corridor and saw lots of people arrive with similar dissappointment.

Its mostly everywhere and affects not only Jetstar passengers, Qantas passengers on codeshares are also often met with closed lounges in other cities such as Melbourne F after 5PM, CNS OOL and DRW QPs close before JQ departures occur with DRW closed during their peak!

Thats terrible. I live in Hobart and just recently bought QC membership. We don't always have the option of Qantas flights due to timetables and I have a similar timed Jetstar flight in May and it will be very annoying that it won't be open.

I think we need to start a campaign of letter writing, particularly for the smaller places where Qantas almost forces you to travel Jetstar.

Dale.

The issue is that Qantas doesn't know how to best operate their 2-brand strategy to keep customers ;)
