They don’t need to. Airport staff can escort or make other arrangements so passengers can use the facilities. We have the technology.

Access to toilets is a basic human right and even the US has this as a requirement in their tarmac delay policies.

These pax deserve more than a refund.

As a starter : free lounge access and free access to any toilets on any VA aircraft regardless of cabin on ticket - maybe 5 years??

Kings Canyon has bushes beside the airstrip and they are not very tall.

I think either a full refund for that flight or a free return domestic flight would be more than sufficient as an apology.
It clearly wasn't on purpose and, cough happens...
I've not once been on or heard of ALL lavs failing in VA's history.
Although I am shocked it happened on such a new aircraft (a few days old).

I think they’d at least need to throw in some new underwear and pants as well.

Also note the tail number cause there’s no way in hell I’m flying on it knowing what has transpired…

That was a 900. And a while ago. I assume you know how many are flying now...daily without incident. However, ofcourse, each to their own.

I think the closest Qantas came was a SCL-SYD on a 747-400 in 2013 where a school group developed gastro symptoms in flight - vomiting and diarrhoea. While the symptoms developed on the airplane , the source originated prior to boarding likely the day before. 26 with vomiting and diarrhoea and 6 loos in Y on the 747. I wonder if other Y passengers were allowed to use the premium loos.

Virgin always promised they'd open a classy lounge in Hobart.
