If the conversion rate is decent, this could be the nail in the coffin for QFF for me.
I have a ton of QFF points that I find difficult to use simply because the seat availability is so hard to find unless you book months out in advance which I often don't have the capacity to do. On top of that is the higher points per mile and higher fees and taxes which have quickly gone from bad to terrible. It almost feels like they're selling a lot more points through credit card companies, woolworths, optus and whatever partners but there is no growth in capacity for redemptions to match it.
The real kicker however is that QF have cut so many routes and the timing of many of their flights are terrible I've often had to book other airlines as a result. Seriously, how many people really prefer stopping over in Dubai rather than Singapore en route to europe? SIA with their quality of service, and network out of Singapore pretty much nails it for me.
Just hoping it's a decent conversion rate.
