I am achieving VA Plat status with a flight on the 14th April. The date needed for the status change (ie the date I loose a chunk of status credits) is the 15th April so I will scrape in with 1 day to spare. That flight wont appear for ~1 week so will the credits be back-dated to the 14th and I will go through to Plat.
Are my assumptions correct?

I believe your credits will be applied retrospectively.

Piggy backing off this thread (in the Year of the Pig) - I drop back to Gold in November 2019 and have booked flights over Christmas with the current double SC promotion so I'll retain Gold but will this extend my status until November/December 2020 or 2021?

To piggyback off @AIRwin's piggyback:

I travelled with my family, who are pooling into my account, over the weekend. We flew MEL-BNE on Friday (on VA347 which was mysteriously delayed three hours for something not adequately explained) on an Elevate fare, and back MCY-MEL on Sunday (also delayed but due to weather-related ATC issues in MEL) also on Elevate. Both directions were booked during a double-status-credit promo.

On Monday morning, we received outbound points and status credits (incrementally over the course of a few minutes) including a Silver bonus on my flight and 4x 40 SC to bring my total to 556. Overnight on Monday it revised my status to Gold, showing when I checked on Tuesday morning. It showed the review date for requalification as 9 July 2020 (Tuesday + 1 year).

Then this morning (Wednesday), we received points for the return flight. Again, I got the Silver-level bonus and 4x 40 SC, so my total SC are at 716. The app shows my "SC to Plat" as 284, but still shows "SC to requalify Gold" as 400.

Surely I should be entitled to the Gold-level bonus for the flight after the relevant flights to qualify for Gold? And more important that a couple of hundred points, surely my return 160 SC at least (plus arguably the last 40SC from Friday, after reaching the threshold) should count for requalification next year? I missed out on priority boarding in MCY, which was understandable since they hadn't yet posted the northbound flight points, but when these transactions appear in series in my flight history (and show their activity dates) I should not lose the benefit of nearly half the requalification level?

Will this self-correct? Do I need to reach-out to Velocity to get it remedied?

I'm also unsure of something. I'm a Plat but won't requalify, so I'll drop back to Gold in Dec 2019.

I have overseas travel booked in Oct 19. Will the SCs accrued on that trip count for my next year's 400 needed to re-qual for Gold? ie do they last for 12 mths, so when I drop to Gold I may already have 150 accrued or does my SC count reset to 0 on the date I drop back to Gold, meaning I need 400 from that date?

You will need to contact velocity, they should retroactively post your Gold Bonus points and SC toward requal for your return flights on Sunday, However, the 40 SC above 500 from Friday do not count for anything except the potential run to Platinum.

My renewal date is the 13th - in three days time. Yesterday I flew SYD-SIN-LHR on an SQ ticket with my VA number attached. The first leg of SCs (90) have turned up already, that was quick, it was a PE ticket. That's going to allow me to gift Gold. Unfortunately the second lot will essentially go to waste I guess, but gifting Gold will be worth it I think. Row 31 A on the new fitout A380 - fantastic PE seat, lots of legroom stretching out to that bulkhead. Underwhelmed by the food in PE though - it's not a patch on SQ J.

Lovely to be back in London again!

That one.

Your SC balance doesn't reset to 0, however the 400 SC needed to re-qualify for Gold will start, at 0, from the date you drop back to Gold in Dec 2019.

Got it. Thanks. I'll leave our Oct trip pooling to my wife as that'll take her to gold. Now how to plan our Sept 2020 trip to both get some SCs towards requalifying, as well as use some of our half a million points to get business class seats....

Does anyone have a handle on how long I should wait on an online support request with Velocity before following-up by Twitter or phone? I raised this with them about twelve days ago.
