VA Gold recognition on HX?

I am flying with Hong Kong Airlines from HKG-SYX later this month, I entered my VA number but it doesn't show my gold entitlement for the extra 20KG luggage, has anyone got experience travelling with HX as a VA gold and can confirm HX will honour the baggage entitlement for VA Gold members?

I'd jump on the HX chat line for this, get confirmation and print the results. I've flown HX as a Plat a couple of times but didn't need to trouble the larger allowance. Mind you, I'll be flying them mid-January and may in fact need to given I'll be lugging a pair of skis with me, however it's a VA codeshare rather than direct.

One thing I can say is it took me a full nine months to get credited with points and SCs, so make sure you save your boarding pass for the retro claim.

Thank you, I am doing that right now. My biggest concern at the moment is I see HX has stopped selling the flight I am supposed to fly on Saturday, either this means the flight is full (possible, but unlikely), or they are thinking about cutting the flight, which would be hugely problematic because no other airline fly HKG-SYX that day.

Time for me to call the travel insurance company to know what I am covered in this instance....

Just an update for others who might be flying with HX in the future. Everything was fine in HKG, but in SYX they have no idea what VA status is, ended up having to argue with the manager there and they eventually gave me the baggage allowance.

Unsurprisingly I had the same argument in the SYX lounge, so I just pull out my priority pass and use that instead of arguing for another 15 minutes.

tldr: full recognition in HKG, zero recognition in SYX.
