VA cancelled flights with no alternative

Update: I initiated a cc chargeback for my cancelled VA flights at the beginning of August. Still nothing or no update from my cc after a little over 2 months. Is this normal? I didn't think it took so long.
It doesn’t usually. Are there any messages in your bank account in box? That is where communications occur. Otherwise ring and ask. Perhaps the situation is different because of Virgin’s collapse?

I did the same thing for my flights with my Credit Card provider. Once requested, they credited my account for the amount as conditional credit. Three weeks later they requested around 10 things to provide and I had to respond to all their questions which took awhile to collate. Several weeks after lodging my responses, i was notified that the merchant’s bank was given 45 days to respond to my claims. I had to chase the bank up 3 weeks after the 45 day period to determine if the request was found in my favour. From date of initiation with the bank to finding in my favour it took just over 2.5 months. I had to continually chase the bank, even for the final outcome which was disappointing but I understand the volume of work they have is massive.

Looks like I'll have to chase them up then. When I first lodged the chargeback, they said they'd keep me updated with emails and text messages but I have not received any communication from them.
 
Further update: I contacted my cc provider and, lo and behold, I hadn't heard anything because the dispute was lodged incorrectly on their system in the first place. The woman on the phone was very apologetic and sent me the relevant email so that I could send them the appropriate information, which I have now done. She also said that I should have the funds credited back into my account within a few days.

If you are dealing with AMEX I hope your experience will be easier than mine was. When I did the charge backs Amex credited the money back to my account and then took it back again about 6 weeks later, we then started the whole process again. It took me about 14-16 weeks for the charge backs to final stick and I am unsure if my refunds were an ex gratia payment from AMEX as I was willing to cancel my accounts. From the information provided to me by AMEX after they received the merchant response from VA it was clear that VA were clearly not wanting to give back any funds and arguing that a refund was not warranted and requested that AMEX close the dispute.

I'm dealing with Westpac MC. And my flights were booked through Fly365, who have also gone defunct. The woman on the phone said that they have been dealing a lot with cancelled flights booked through Fly365 and so are well versed in dealing with their administrators.
