Hi all, looking at flying on VA7 to LAX, connecting to SJD. Virgin booking engine can't handle this, and Expedia throws me on to AS. I don't have any problems with this, but I am wondering what sort of connection protection I might get? I don't know of any stated protection between the 2 carriers. I think Expedia is adding on the AS segment independently from the AU-US-AU flights. VA7 arrives at 0630, and there are 2 AS flights, the first at 10.45.
If there is no pretection, as an AAPlat I would prefer to wait for AA279 at 1125.

Any information would be of great help!

Also what would be the situation with bags?

If it is booked as the one ticket, then you should be protected in the event of a misconnect.

The following info applies to VA however what's not clear is whether it must be in one booking for through check to happen as I understand from what other people on AFF have said is that VA won't even through check to VX if separate pnrs.

I though I read something recently about the VA website now supporting multi city bookings however I'm not sure whether that is domestic only.

Thanks for the info, great help.

Multistop is for the domestic network only. I tried VA over the phone, and couldn't even get a stopover in LAX coming back from SFO... so I guess the online version might be a while yet!
