VA and SQ Alliance Final Approval

They're preparing for it - i noticed Singapore is now a destination when departing from Perth. No flights available on any of the random days i've picked from next year but.

Has anyone who's flown SQ since being able to earn velocity points received their velocity points yet? I flew with them last week so was wondering how long it takes for the points and status credits to post.

I flew with them a couple of times after Christmas but haven't recieved the point yet. I believe it can take up to three weeks so I'm not too worried yet.

Everything with the new alliance worked fine - priority boarding, access to lounges (SilverKris in LHR and the Gold Lounge in SIN - not great but better than nothing!), and additional luggage allowance.

Can I use Krisflyer points to buy a domestic VA fare (eg BNE-MEL)? If so, how do I book that?

Did anyone answer thise? I've got a few spare miles in my KF account but none in my velocity. Wanting to book MEL-SYD in business useing KF miles but not sure how to go about it.

I am confused.

Perth - Sin return on QF is 50,000 points + taxes
Perth - Sin ONE WAY on DJ is 60,000 + taxes

Surely this isn't correct??

Whats confusing, different earn often means different burn!

For example:

Perth - coughet (1 hour past Singapore) 23,900 points + $78 taxes one way.

Perth to coughet is DJ metal in a 737. Perth to Singapore is SQ metal on an A330.

Per - sin on SQ is 30,000 points anyway so I'm not sure where 60k one way is coming from.

Its a bit more than Per - KUL on MH which would be 23,900.

Virgin website states clearly one way:

Um, thanks for that...I'll read it all later.

I think the wording is wrong...consult the points tables:

Points Tables | Velocity Frequent Flyer

For the table containing SQ ex PER:

One-Way Miles

Economy

Business

First

0-600

10,000

17,500

25,000

601-1,200

12,500

25,000

40,000

1,201-2,400

20,000

40,000

55,000

2,401-3,600

30,000

60,000

85,000

OR...one way is priced the same as return??
