using QFF to book AA domestic flights

Have managed to book domestic Delta flights with VFF points so thought booking AA with QFF would be just as easy- how wrong am I !!

Im trying to look into what points are need for a variety of US domestic flights and with QF points to burn for this trip, am looking at using QFF points. I can't get anywhere as it says no flights exist between departing and arrival city, but when I try to use the stopover city, that doesn't even exist in the options !!

Im looking for WAS to ORL(via Charlotte) ; FLL to SFO via DFW and can't even get SFO to LAX to show up as a viable route.

What am I doing wrong?

Does this mean I need to call up the Q service desk to a) get the pts required and then b) progress to booking them?

You have to click the "search classic awards" option to expand the number of departure cities. Then you'll see options like Seattle and other cities where qantas has no presence.

Try using the multi-city award booking function (even if only populating 'Flight 1' of this, ie FLL-SFO.
Delete Flight 2 as it will auto-populate a departure commencing in SFO, then search, which will bring up available options including connections.
If you want a stopover in DFW or Charlotte, you'd need to search 2 separate flights for the relevant dates
