I signed up with Avianca Brazil 18 months ago in a status match promotion and got the equivalent of Star Alliance Gold status for 2 years. I have since used it for my Air Canada and UA flights and accumulated just over 20,000 points.

I am trying to use them but it seems that only cities covered by Avianca Brazil are included when redeeming points for flight which is of no use for me. Does anyone has experience with Avianca Brail program and redeeming points with them?

What program is your 20,000 points in? I assume Amigo?

from their website:

[h=1]Redeem Tickets[/h][h=2]How to redeem tickets[/h]

[FONT=&quot]Use your Amigo Program points for travel to more than 1,300 destinations.
You can use your Amigo Program points for travel on Avianca Brasil (O6) flights or on Star Alliance member airlines flights. There are more than 1,300 national and international destinations.
The issuance of tickets with points, in economy class, for flights operated by Avianca Brasil (O6) can be done in the website and by Amigo Customer Service. To redeem points on flights with Star Alliance member airlines or on Avianca Brasil (O6) flights from Brazil to Miami, in business class, call to Amigo Customer Service 4004-4040 (capitals and areas Metropolitan areas) or 0300-789-8160 (other regions).

I think it is Amigo. I can redeem online for certain destinations and I assume they are all domestic routes in Brazil or South America. Looks like I need to call to redeem for other destinations. I hope they speak English. My Portuguese or Spanish is non-existence.

You realise that MANY of us have bought and redeemed 100s of 1000's of points with Avianca Lifemiles?

I doubt if any of us speak much Portugese or Spanish either.... you'll be fine!:mrgreen:

To be fair my contact with LM's phone centre has been limited - to paying for screen-shots and cancelling tickets. Those took long enough :( I'm not sure about having a conversation to discuss options for booking a ticket!
