Hi,

My partner and I are flying QF MEL-LAX return in Y early next year. I'm SG and have points in QFF; my partner has points in Emirates Skywards but no status. Is there any easy way to book two seats together using our respective points? Or is our only option to book separately and take pot luck that we can request seats together afterwards?

The flights we found on both sites are 96000 points plus about $850 in taxes.. not sure how that compares or whether trying for an ASA would reduce the point/dollar spend any amount.

Thanks for your help!

Was told over the phone I could link an AA reservation with a QF reservation for the same flight.
Have not tried it though.

This should allow seat selections for both of you under your status.

I just called QF and asked about linking the reservations together, but they said it wasn't possible as there'd be two different ticket/booking numbers with two different carriers. Wishful thinking I guess!

I dont think its an actual link. More of a note on their system.

I have managed to get seat selection for non status passengers flying on same flight as me but on different bookings. (Not different airlines but basically the same I would think)
Just call again and say you have someone traveling with you but on a different ticket and you would like to allocate their seat as you are Gold.
If they say no ask them to request it through a supervisor. It does work though.
