I can see the flights I want in J are available, but my leave hasn't been approved by work yet. Booking is for the northern summer so I'm anxious about seats disappearing. So I'm tempted to book now, and if my leave is varied at all by work, to deal with it later.

If the worst case scenario arises and I have to make changes/cancel, what (if anything) do I lose? Do I get all the points back and just lose the booking fee?

From what I understand out of the membership guide you'll have to pay a $150US fee for "redepositing" the miles back into your account.

It will be an Asia to Europe fare. What are they like with changes - eg initially I book to Stockholm then change to say, Frankfurt? Will they allow that subject to any change fee/ tax recalculation? (While keeping the return segment unchanged)

Leave slip has been submitted to HR. Verbally told it's okay so just don't want to lose award seats!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Changes are also $150. Changes can only be made prior to departure of the first flight. Once travel has commenced, no changes are allowed.
