What video formats does a qantas 747 and A380 take with USB? I want to catch up on some my programs/movies but want to make sure they are in the correct format..

Any issues using this? I have never actually used it as i am never prepared.

I believe it is only JPG images and MP3 files only. It can't play AVI's etc. You might be out of luck, or take the iPad. :-|

As an aside on teh new CX J you can output from your iPad to the in seat screens which is a great benefit.

jpg's that does suck, i thought it would do movies too. oh well.
I dont have an ipad, and dont intend on getting one. I dont want apple to control the world.

BA New First allows you to plug your iPod or iPad in to play on the TV screen as well.

But both seem to use some proprietary connector.
These screens should have a standard hdmi/ mini hdmi connector

With all the rumours about Apple dropping their existing connecter for something smaller in the next iPhone, it’s good they’re not using Apple’s proprietary connector, but strange they can just use USB… I don’t think HDMI is that great…

I’ve tried plugging my iOS device into USB ports on planes before but nothing ever works :(

*cough*, probably to head off EU issues over not using micro-usb for connections, rather than any burning desire to make customers more happy with a unified iPhone. (And yes, I realise they do have a plug that you can use to convert to micro-usb, but that isn't the same...)
