USA with kids - advice please!

If you're going to NY, I'd definitely given 3 days there to 1 in Vegas, instead of 2 each. It's subjective of course and depends what you want to see, but there's a lot in New York (including shopping), and it's much larger.

Yeah, I agree with that & did try something similar as we wanted to stay 3 nights in Vegas to give a bit of time to get over the jetlag.... Tried an extra night in NY & one less in Orlando - this way the flights work out a lot more that way as it means travelling on a Sunday. All flights I have found on a Sunday are a lot more expensive. Will keep playing around with it until I book the flights in about 2 weeks.
