USA tourism down with Trump Slump attributed to travel ban

I travel to the US probably 20-30 times a year. I can't say I've noticed any major changes since the beginning of the Trump era, but it still doesn't rate overly highly on my list of places to visit for leisure. I guess I get the benefit of shopping on works time, but other than that, there's not a lot in the US that does it for me. I do enjoy how welcoming the people are and how great the service is. I really hope that doesn't change as they move towards these federal policies that seem to be anti-foreigner

I won't be going to the USA anytime soon since my last failed attempt. I'll visit when I need to visit as the USA has some wonderful golf courses I need for the long term memory banks.

Why can't some people just get over the last election? Seriously why care? More important things in life to worry about than tourist numbers dropping.

Thanks a lot, Barry; Aussie hater.

I guess you'll no longer be transiting the USA on your way to Canada then as well.

I'll be applying fore a B1/B2 visa, as painful as that process will be. I may have to apply for a second, concurrent Australian passport to allow me to send my passport off for its holiday at the US consulate. So Obama is going to end up costing me, what .. $700 or so for various visas/passports because I have the gall and moral turpitude to visit Iran on an organised, English tour.

Actually on that latter topic, in Tahiti recently a couple of medicos from ... Boston ... were in cruise boat with me and we got talking. It was all going swimmingly, until I mentioned that to was going to visit Iran. Ye Gods, the moral outrage that poured forth ... it was almost funny. They couldn't conceive of anyone actually visiting Iran for any reason. "They export terrorism!!"

Because I'm such a swell, easy going guy (especially in Tahiti) I kept mum over MY opinions on certain US failings (they should join the long line of countries with major failings ...;) ) and waived the Richard Craniums goodbye.

Difficult if you're an American white working class male (which I'm not). Or, perhaps, if you're anyone else.

Australian? Why care?
No man is an Island......and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls it tolls for thee. True when Donne wrote it in the 17th century, even more true in this interconnected world.

Would that be the ESTA episode? John...i would seriously recommend Pebble Beach! A spectacle to behold.

That is the one. Pebble Beach would be one of the best but I was thinking more along the lines of Myrtle Beach, Palm Springs, Phoenix. Can't wait.
