Hi
I have only just realised I need to fill these out and we leave in 2 weeks - totally fine but then I read further and my 4yo isn't vaccinated as she still can't be here in Australia.

CDC website says we must get her a viral test within 5 days and isolate for 5 days even if negative!! How am I only just realising this now??
Is this something that is monitored or more a "i promise" kind of thing??
I can't believe I didn't notice this before and am kind of freaking out a bit now.

Sherpa indicates under 18's are exempt but processes vary depending on the type of exemption.

This entry restriction doesn’t apply to the following travelers:
...
-Travelers under the age of 18;
...

CDC says for her age we need to isolate for 5 days
I can’t believe I didn’t investigate this sooner
I’m just wondering if it’s like an honour system or enforced

Sorry for double post but I finally got correct info from the CDC website - it’s like finding a needle in a haystack

I’ll post here for anyone who finds this thread and needs the info

————-
Children ages 2 through 17 years (minors) who are noncitizen nonimmigrants do not have to quarantine after arrival in the United States; however, the attestation requires that they get a COVID-19 viral test 3-5 days after arrival. If a child, like any other traveler, tests positive for COVID-19 or develops COVID-19 symptoms, they should isolate for a full 5 calendar days. They should also properly wear a well-fitting mask any time they must be around others during their full 5-day isolation period and for an additional 5 days after ending isolation.

Thanks @wendlle - I've been pondering this same issue for MasterC. I'm interested to know your experience once you've visited the US. I.e whether you get quizzed about any of it on arrival etc

I’ll report back once we return.
We leave next week

I'm also interested as Seat Daughter and Granddaughter (aged 2) are heading to see relatives in the USA for Christmas. Daughter is vaxxed, but little one is not. Will be very pleased to hear about your experiences.

Hi
@Seat0B and @LadyC
I have just returned from our trip to the USA and I can let you know that we were never asked for the attestation forms or anything at all relating to vaccination at the US border.

When we checked into our flight in Sydney, we were asked for our Proof of Vaccination which I had printed out for the 3 of us that were vaccinated, I simply told them that Miss 4 wasn't as she is too young yet in Australia and that was that, we were on our way.

So, I'm glad we had all the documents printed out but it turns out we never actually needed any of them or were asked about them after the initial point of checking in at Sydney airport - we flew with United Airlines.

It's worth also noting that the attestation forms are now filled out online with the airline, not a separate printed form like it used to be. At least that's how it worked for our recent Jetstar flight to the USA.

We only flew last week and United required us to print them

Thanks very much for this update. Really appreciate you taking the time.

Maybe it depends on the carrier, we flew to the US a couple of months back. Flying EK they wanted to sight my Vax cert, ETSA and the attestation. Mrs&MissM travelled with SQ and MrsM only recalls having to hand over passports.

Very odd I have flown United five times to the US from Sydney since Dec last year and the attestation has been part of the Travel Ready Centre/Check in on the app, never printed anything.

My son turns 5 early next year and the absolute last thing I would ever do is give a vaccine to a healthy little boy. Vaccines are needed for older ones (say 60+ but really the elderly), not fit young people. NOTE - I am approaching 50 and triple vaxxed.

We all have different opinions, vaccinations are also required to KEEP healthy people healthy

They usually aren’t for already sick people

Both can work - early this month I filled one out from the US CBP website and printed it.

I later noticed the Qantas app was encouraging me to do one online but as I had already done it did not proceed.

About 20 minutes before boarding I was paged and told I had not done one and needed to do.

I showed them my printout and after some checking they accepted that.

Obviously there is some linking with some airlines.

I tend to agree.

I've had 4 vaccines, wife has had 3 vaccines and I'm trying convince her to get the 4th vaccine but 6 year old daughter hasn't been vaccinated and I'd need serious convincing that she needs to be vaccinated.
