Hi all, hoping you can help.
I'm an Australian with an almost 20 year old possession of marijuan_ conviction from when I was 19. I'm considering applying for a visa through the US embassy in Australia. I understand that the initial visa application can take up to 6 months. Can anyone tell me what the process is for future visa applications and the likely duration?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome, camosandals.
I can't help you directly - but if you do a search on "US visa", you will find several threads that report others' experiences in circumstances similar to yours.
Perhaps post again in one of those threads.
Good luck. :)
