US Memorial Day

Flying any of the U.S. carriers domestically at any time is a nightmare ;)

Whilst not as bad as Thanksgiving, it's still a long weekend, so take an average Oz long weekend travel experience and multiply it several fold into something much bigger and it will be the same thing.
Busy, Busy, Busy.
Depends too on what your routing/city pairs are.

For the last 5 years intrepid US Fters have used this long weekend to escape the Memorial day rat-race and gather in Australia for what is known as Ozfest. (The next one is in Hobart, May 23-26th).

They particularly like being able to depart Oz on the Monday and arrive back home the same Monday! (Sort of precludes PER being a venue)

They do realize that they lost a whole day on the way out, don't they?

Who needs logic when trying to self-justify travelling all that way and back for a long weekend. ;)
