US Interstate Flights booking, Need Advice/Help

I have travelled quite extensively using South West. It's true that there are no seat allocations, but you can check in online the day before and get priority boarding. I normally end up getting a better seat on South West in the US than I do on Qantas domestic flights (I am QC Silver) so don't necessarily see lack of seat allocation as an issue. I generally choose a seat when I get on around row 3 or 4 but I've also gone for emergency row seats as well. As long as you're in boarding group A you get a good choice.

Thanks for that. I'll definitely check southwest out. So far I've been lucky as I've managed to book 3 award flights using my QF points on AA and following the previous advices, I managed to get really good seats as well.

The only legs I have left to book are: Las Vegas to Chicago, New York to Washington DC and Florida to San Francisco.

I was wondering if anyone has any good Hotel Booking sites? It seems most of the Australian Travel Sites add some sort of commission on top of the normal rate. So I might book directly with the hotels... I'm a Priority Club member, Starwood Preferred Guest and Hilton Honors...so I might as well get some points where I can, provided it isn't overpriced.

Thanks again for the tips.

I find ZUJI is very good. We even used it while travelling in the US as you can use your Australian credit cards, which isn't always possible via the US websites. A good US site was Hotels.com.

Go to TripAdvisor to check traveller reviews and any place you think about booking. In some cases the best prices were only available on the hotel's own website - when you find a hotel that sounds good via TripAdvisor, google for its own site.
