For those who have ITIN or SSN, here is my Chase Sapphire Preferred (CSP) referal link and some info on applying for Chase cards.

- $95 USD annual fee
- 60,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000USD within 3 months. (worth $750 when redeeming through Chase travel portal or transfer to 10 airline partners and 3 hotel programs)
- 2x points on dining (works in Australia)
- 2x points on travel (works in Australia)
- 2x points on grocery (works in Australia) - Temporary until April 30, 2021
- No foreign transaction fee.
Notes on applying for Chase cards
1. Before applying for Chase card, you should have at least 1 year of a credit history in the US, the longer the better. It could be less than 1 year if you have some relationship with them ie checking account. You will not be approved for most cards if you have opened 5 or more personal credit cards past 24 months.
2. You should have a credit limit with another bank that is equal to or higher than the minimum credit limit Chase requires for each card. ie CSP has a minimum $5,000 credit limit, you should have $5,000 limit with another bank first. $10,000 for Chase Sappire Reserve. This will make an approval easier.
3. If you use Google Voice or some other VOIP services, Chase will not be able to verify you by sending SMS when you call. They will ask you questions instead. Nothing difficult except the County of your address. You can google it before calling. Chase can send SMS for spending alerts and all other alerts just fine.
4. This is Chase Approval Chart (Cr: Reddit). My experience was slightly different. When I calles automated status line 1-800-432-3117, I got 30 days message first (waiting to be processed) . Then it changed to 7-10 days (either denial or needs verification). Chase sent a letter with a refference number. You do not have to wait for a letter. You can call recon line 1-888-270-2127.
I was told they needed to verify my identity and address by faxing Passport, ITIN and bank statement. If they want to verify you, it is likely that you will be approved if there is no issue with your documents. The message changed to 30 days after I faxed. I called again after a couple of days and was approved on the spot. If you are patient, you don't have to make many calls like I did.
5. I used faxzero.com to send fax. People used app TinyFax successfully as well. However, you can ask them if they can offer a secure upload. This is easier and will get processed quicker but not all CSRs will offer this option.
6. If you are denied (any US card), you should call a reconsideration line. Some people get approved after 2 or 3 calls. For Chase, if it's not 5/24 rule or too short history, it's worth to call them. Even if you are still denied, you might get some useful info.
7. Once you have a card, you mightn't be able to set up an online account if you use VOIP number like Google voice, Text now etc. The issue could be that Chase cannot send SMS to verify. You will have to call and ask for "Online Team". They will be able to set up an account for you.
8. For Sapphire family cards, you can only receive the bonus once in 48 months and you can have only 1 Sapphire card. After 48 + 3 months (to be safe as the clock starts when you receive a bonus), you can downgrade the card like Freedom and then apply for a Sapphire card.
9. Having an additional/supplementary/authorized user card will count against 5/24 rule. Calling recon line might work. Make sure you tell them you have no financial resposibility for those cards.
10. You can get an account at credit.com and see some of your credit report/history. ie account age, history length etc.
