Appreciate some advice please.Leaving later this week to the US and unable to find my latest Qantas FF Card, do you think the AA Lounges will still let me in with an expired card? (Feb-16)I moved back from Platinum to Gold earlier in the year and haven't flown Qantas since. Just noticed I didn't receive the updated Gold card at the time, and I doubt Qantas will be able to send an update in time, especially as they are linked to CC cards now. Thanks for your help.

Haven't tried with an expired card, but I've gotten into an AA lounge when I first got to Gold when I still had the Sliver card. No issues.

Do you use Qantas Cash?
You may be able to request an old style card without Qantas Cash. They don't take as long to process and send out.

I've never shown my QF card to enter AA lounges, the boarding pass with status is all you need. The card is handy if you want to enter the lounge as a QF status PAX and credit to another program where you have no status (or no USA DOM access if AA elite)

Funny enough had drama this morning when I said I was OWE with Qantas

Was told I needed card to enter. This was in ORD. But to be fair the agent was an idiot. I had to show id which was weird too. My bp had my AA which would not have let me in.

Ive had to show it at every lounge in the US and I'm OWE which is shows on the boarding pass.

Once (on principle) I argued the point in DFW and stood my ground and watched them create the biggest fuss on earth calling supervisors and pushing back on me. This went on for a good 10 mins. Eventually I 'remembered' I had it and they let me in. But I did have a 5 hour wait and wanted to enjoy the sport of it all (I was cool as a cucumber but adamant in my rights which they can never cope with on America, but fun for me). AA staff haven't got a clue on the most part.

I did 16 sectors on aa in usa this year... never been asked once with status showing on boarding pass.

With my QF number on the BP, I wasn't asked for my card either. But I always make sure that I have my card at the ready, just in case. Murphy's Law is when you don't have the card, you'll need it...and my surname is Murphy!

Boarding pass all that has been required for me. Showing the big EMERALD (or in the case of a QF Gold, SAPPHIRE) is enough. I have my card with me but have never been required to show it. As long as one's FF status is reflected on your boarding pass you'll be right (though it is bemusing that some here report being asked for the card. I've visited AA clubs at LAX SFO DFW ORD(flagship) PHX etc and never been asked.
