I've I made my first AAdvantage booking today, entirely on line; 5 sectors next week in J (3 on AA, 2 on US), no issues, paid the fee with Aussie cc.

It wasn't until I printed out the itinerary from the e-mail they sent me that I noticed at a US$75 'AAdvantge Award processing fee' had been charged. I'm pretty sure it wasn't singled out at the time of booking - just a lump sum.

I'm OW Emerald via QF but of course the booking was made under my AA FF number, where I have no status.

Does that sound right?

IMO that is a cough charge ...... if with 24-48 hours fair call.... seeing it is all electronic 21 days is a eternity

USDM hit you with a $75 rush fee if you book your redemption within a month of travel.. This sounds like the same thing if your flights are next week.

Waived if you are an AA EXP using miles for you from your account
