So we cancelled our planned Japan trip for the holidays over the weekend due to the earthquake situation. We got a full refund from Qantas.

So now we're planning to visit HK next week. My wife says Royal Brunei have cheap flights at $700 return from Mel.

Doesn't matter if it's ex Syd or Ex Mel but need to book urgently for departure next week.

Any other last minute good deals out there anyone can recommend?

$700 sounds pretty good.

Cheapest I could on rough dates was Malaysian at $1280 or Cathay (oneworld) for $1450..

Note with Brunei - the flight times, you may have to stay over a night in transit

Actually just found SIA on webjet for $448 each way. Great price and we'll book them.
